Here we see Andrea choosing the glass components of the mirror. (Click on picture for better view.) The components are shown in the lower lefthand corner. These pieces are completely made by hand in the glass furnaces of Murano. He has already prepared a wooden back (completely handcrafted) to hold the mirror and cut the mirror to the shape and glued it to the wood backing and painted the goldgilt on the edges. The mirror itself is formed in the furnaces of Murano. Now he adds the leaves and the flowers to complete the mirror and produces a beautiful item for your home. Note that the attaching of the leaves and flowers is with crystal-glass-knobbed nails replicating the mirror construction of the 18th century. Each mirror handmade and unique. |
