 Taking a class in blowing glass at San Jose State (California), I discovered my passion for the furnace and the mystical properties of glass. It behaves differently each day and challenges you, but always fascinating.
I had the privilege of working with Maestro GianFranco in his furnace. Signor GianFranco is the President of PromoVetro, the association which promotes Murano glass around the world. Here we opening the plate before the final flashing and spining. This was a real honor for an American and for a woman as there are few women in this industry in Italy.
